Until the appearance of Clint Eastwood in the Chrysler ad, I was thoroughly underwhelmed by the efforts of the ad agencies who produced the various auto ads for the Super Bowl.

They were all contrived, cliche, expected and worked just a little too hard.

Old recipes that just don't taste good anymore.

It was like they made beer commercials and replaced the product shots with cars.

Sorry, fellas, but NONE of them HAD IT.

Except THIS ad from Chrysler starring Clint 'Gran Torino' Eastwood.

And just like the Eminem spots in previous games, it delivered a truthful, emotional and AUTHENTIC message.

Even though it was shown during a game, the one key line that resonated with me is what we're doing here in America competing in this global market is NOT A GAME. There is too much at stake.

Kudos to Chrysler, AutoSpies.com awards YOU the ring for winning the Super Bowl of car ads.

Let us know your opinions and if you saw any others that you thought were SUPER BOWL worthy efforts.
