Congress today approved the first fuel-economy increase bill in 32 years. Senate approved the bill last week passing it onto the House where it was approved by a wide margin of 314-100. The CAFE 35 calls for a 40 percent increase to fuel-economy to 35mpg.

President George W. Bush will sign the bill tomorrow officially raising the fuel-efficiency standards.
