Could the europeans handle this hot 4wd? at half the price?
The USA does not have it. But it should.

It's official: FPV will unveil a high-performance version of the Ford Territory at the Sydney motor show next week. The FPV F6 X will be the first non-Falcon model to hit Ford Performance Vehicle's showrooms when it goes on sale in the first quarter of 2008.

It is based on an all-wheel-drive version of the Ford Territory Turbo, and gets a significant power boost in the form of the 270kW (363hp)/550Nm turbocharged six-cylinder engine also found in the FPV F6 Typhoon sedan and F6 Tornado ute.

According to the information leaked in the magazine report, the six-speed-automatic-only F6 X should be capable of accelerating from 0-100km/h in about 5.4 seconds. This kind of straightline performance puts it on par with more expensive, high-performance 4WD wagons from Porsche, BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

The report confirms that the FPV F6 X scores a number of firsts for the FPV brand. The two-tonne wagon is fitted with Brembo six-piston front brakes with a unique anti-lock-braking tune, and with electronic stability control and curtain airbags. The F6 X gets firmer suspension and unique 18-inch alloy wheels to improve its road manners .

The FPV F6 X's exterior is subtly enhanced by the wheels, a bold silver grille and dark front skidplate that wraps up into the front bumper. A dark accent also surrounds the bonnet scoop that feeds air to the intercooler.

Inside, the F6 X gets two-tone leather seats with the F6 X logos worked into the headrests – including the optional third-row seats, and an individual numbered build plate near the transmission lever. A premium sound system and dual-zone climate control are standard.

Could the europeans handle this hot 4wd? at half the price?

Another great Ford product that North America "does not deserve".

I am so disgusted at the crap Ford gives us here, while all the others get such better cars. Ford is an american car company, we should be the first to get these kind of cars. Thats why American cars are going to $hit. If we would stop screwing our own people maybe more would buy American. If it werent for the die hard I only buy American no matter what, we wouldn't have an auto industry anymore. At least GM is realising this and doing something about it.

This has got to be the most irritating part about Ford. A homegrown company that exports everything good about itself and leaves the table scraps for its family.

While I think this is a great car for the money, in terms of quality it is a notch or two down on the European-manufactured Fords. For this reason I don't see it fitting well with their portfolio.

The Falcon and Territory are also very bland, and you can tell by the recent radical designs for the Mondeo, Focus facelift etc. that the European market wants style and flair in their models.

I would rather have the European lineup than the Australian one, but both are about twelve hundred times better than the cars we get.

I think the best example of Ford of America's mediocrity is the "new" Focus. It's "NEW!!!" And not only is it based on a ten-year-old platform, but the Europeans are going to get a THIRD-generation platform soon! And not only is the interior crappier than the old one, but it doesn't drive as well, either! AND it's hideous! Wow, bravo, Ford!

THE MONDEO?!? The Ford you should want is the Focus (more precisely, the ST)! Now that is a neat Ford! The new Mondeo looks okay if you look at that "Casino Royale" dress... But a standard Mondeo in metallic silver with the standard 16" rims looks like a bloated Focus! The new Mondeo looks way better in pictures than in real life... But okay... It is still 100x better than any american ford!

I'm sorry... But what hot 4WD? Because I don't see it! I see a white ford SUV, but it isn't hot... It looks okay... But it definately isn't hot!
