If there's one thing we admire about the auto companies, it's the great lengths they go — most of the time — to try and keep things secret.

Secret testing, secret events, secret unveils and the like. It makes busting them much more fun!

Anyhow, we've seen a couple of teases of a blue car that Toyota's Lexus division has claimed it will be bringing to the 2014 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS). Clearly it is a bit muscular and with that special blue paint not seen on anything aside from an "F" model, we knew it was going to be legit.

Turns out we've been getting teased by the Lexus RC F. Though it wasn't much a mystery, it's been officially confirmed that it would be the RC F via a website Lexus has sent out for VIPs its inviting to scope the car out on the night of January 14 — the second media day of NAIAS.

The site's text originally said "RC F" but now if you click "Read Article" and visit it yourself you'll note that content has been scrubbed. Whoops!

The BIG mystery that's been cracked is the car's power output. Seen via a physically mailed out copy, Lexus will be equipping the RC F with a 460 horsepower V8.

If Lexus has improved upon the IS F's driving dynamics and lightened it up a bit, we could be hearing about a history maker right now. Let's hope the lessons learned in the development of the LFA have paid off!
