Hard to believe, but we’re at the close of the decade! Since modern society couldn’t decide what to name this decade (was it the aughts, or naughts?), you just knew some serious brown matter would be hitting the fan, and the 2000’s did not disappoint. The decade had it’s share of bright spots too, so grab a party hat and your favorite beverage and join The Garage looks back on the 00’s.

The Death of Plymouth

In the Pentastar family, Plymouth was long known as the “value brand” and for decades built a reputation for plain and simple sedans that were perfect for Grandma to drive to church on Sunday. There were exceptions, such as the outrageous Roadrunner muscle car and the cool looking but anemic hot rod, the Prowler. But mainly, Plymouths were lower-priced, slightly decontented, badge-engineered cars that Dodge or Chrysler sold.

Interesting to note, near the end Chrysler had much different plans for Plymouth. When the Eagle brand was phased out at the end of the 1990’s....
