Details emerge on 2010 Toyota Prius, more power and better fuel-economy
We already know that Toyota will reveal the next-generation Prius at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show - but like us you’re probably wondering what to expect. According to CARandDRIVER, the next-generation Prius won’t see any radical changes. The top-selling hybrid will be slightly larger, a bit more spacious on the inside with more luxury options.

Under the hood Toyota will offer a slightly larger 1.6L engine with more power and even better fuel-economy than the current models 48/45mpg (city/highway) EPA numbers. The “Hybrid Synergy Drive” system will still have...

LOL. You're completely out of this world my friend. When I think of SUV I think Land Rover/Range Rover. There's no way when you say CAR you'll think of a Prius. It's not exciting, exotic, or has any curb appeal. Sure it may have great MPG but it's not an iconic car. It's not the car that will go down in history as the first hybrid car. We all know Honda was the first company to implement hybrid technology in a mass scale. It's just Toyota had better marketers and utilized the hybrid format in the right time.

Looks like a wedge of cheese.

More crap from the car company that doesn't have a clue on how to design.

I'd hate to be driving that thing when the sun is at the @ 12:00 position. Sunvisors , maybe , but they won't keep the heat from radiating in . BTW. this one and many of the new enviro cars look like the ones little kids play with where they take their thumb and two fore fingers and roll it vigorously it into the furniture or uncle Elmos's shoe to see if they can wreck it

The way sales are flying off the shelves, it's obvious Toyota doesn't give a flying wedgie how ugly the car is because "green freaks and gas misers" really have no other choice if they want the most fuel efficient green car for the money. It's too bad, if this car was better designed (say if it looked like an "interpretation" of the Mini) Toyota could make more money selling ONLY this car.

actually the photoshop looks quite good to me. seeing Toyota has to make it large/roomy and practical and then place for Battreies...etc. So that are quite a few limitations for the designers.

but still the above photoshop looks good to me. Sharp and unique.

I think the 21st century icon car will be the first mass produced sporty hydrogen car. There's still 92 years left.

Better than I was hoping, the concept Prius was bleh. Poor VW, they had a hard enough time getting close to the old Prius, they stand no chance in hell against the new one. Looks like the TDI will be relugated to Europe.

Still waiting for them to drop synergy drive into an IS/ES.

Its a bit strange why the plug-in will get Li-Ion batteries and the regular one won't.

Maybe this article will finally sink in over in Europe. Using more and hiding it isn't the same as using less and not having to hide it.

Biofuels (ethanol, biodiesel) have increased food prices by 75% according to a bunch of people with too much time on their hands (World Bank).

Except in Europe, the diesel passenger car's days are numbered. The Germans better release another V10/V12 diesel before there isn't any diesel left.

Toyota has too much sh** up their sleeves - all they have to do is put AWD w/hybrid V6 in the ES...which i've heard things about. That thing will be fast and still cheaper than an A6.
