Developing the Ocean Drive Concept
I present you a great video of what it took to develop the Mercedes Benz Ocean Drive Concept. Similar to what the Maybach Exelero has done, the Ocean Drive is doing as well. Some Hip Hop artist has shown interest in having the concept car in one of their videos, similar to what Jay-Z did with the Exelero. Read Article

It's nice but arriving at the Breakers in a Bentley Azure would better.

Yeah I agree. It looks beutiful but when you shell out that kind of cash, why not just get the best.

When you think of Mercedes you think of luxury. So to say that forking out a lot of money for a Mercedes car of this targeted market is absurd. If it was a Maybach it would be different right? I guess it's the image you're thinking about. If people with that kind of money can afford it they won't care what badge it says on it. If the quality is there and it rides comfortably people will buy it. After all it is a Mercedes a world class luxury brand maker. Everybody knows Mercedes it's not from some eco-luxury brand like the Lexus LS I own. Great car but it's more affordable than it's German rivals. On top of that Lexus is not known around the world. You would be surprised how many still think the Lexus brand is just a rebadged Toyota. Once someone has that mind set they will not change it. Only in the US where most think it's the best in the world. How can it be the best in the world when not everyone knows about it or respects it?

Of course it would be better to have the Bentley or Rolls-Royce, but the big Benz will be the only luxury marque with a 4-seat, 4-dr convertible. And if it could be done with a (lightweight, but strong) hardtop, that would turn the market up-side-down.

No large car since the '60s(?) Lincoln Continental 4-dr convertible w/suicide doors has been done. A couple of aftermarket groups have applied the 4-dr droptop formula to the Chrysler 300, but there was no production plans afterwards. The M-B Ocean Drive should be quite interesting.

what i am noticing it is very hard for designers to contain a nice sleek design of a car that is that long, however some manage it and do a great job!

You do know that this is only a concept car with a concept name. Mercedes doesn't give names to their cars, they are usually a class (S, C, E, etc.) with a number behind it, indicating the engine. Nice try.
