One of our loyal readers and Spies Fred Khaz caught these in Irvine but we're not quite sure what car this is...

Could it be of the upcoming BMW 3-Series coupe competitors from Hyundai or Kia?

similar pictures have already been posted in past threads that have "Hyundai" in the title....not Kia.

This is a bit of a dead giveaway considering it looks almost exactly like the Tiburon.

I live in Irvine and there is a brand spankin' new Kia headquaters just off the 5 freeway in Irvine and I'll bet this is a Kia in Kamo!

the HQ is in Fountain valley but they often bring prototypes down to irvine.

This is the new Hyundai RWD Coupe, not a Kia, the FWD plataform from the current Tiburon will be Kias next Coupe want more info www.newtiburon.com or www.hyundaiexchange.com I have 9 years of Hyundai and Kia knowledge since I am a 1# Tiburon Fan

This is the next Hyundai Tiburon, which will certainly not be a 3 Series competitor. Its closest competition will probably be the Nissan 350Z and Mazda RX-8, if it is indeed RWD.

Didn't you hear the news, the next Tiburon is being positioned as a sports/luxury coupe challenger to everything from the BMW 3-series to the Lexus SC 430.

It is not a KIA it is the Hyundai Coupe, and it is going to be going head to head with the Nissan 350Z this was released by Hyundai a couple weeks ago, and it is supposed to be making its debut at an up and coming show. I think Hyundai is coming up and taking over a lot of categories that a lot of people never thought they would. The new SUV is being compared with of all brands a Lexus, so if that tells you anything, it menas they are out to prove a lot. I have owned 2 Hyundai's both Tiburons, a 1st gen and 2nd gen. I had zero issues except with the 2nd gen and trans problems which later Hyundai admitted having, the fit and the finish of the interior was great, and I am sure they will continue with this

My brother works for a subdivision of Hyundai that deals with all of Hyundai and Kia's logistical operations. He's told me that this is the next Tiburon and will feature a new V6 engine and also have an optional V8.
