In South Africa Lexus is breaking sales records in the luxury sector, since it was relaunched less than 7 months ago, i think a 350% increase!

Lexus is growing. But Germany wont be a place for Lexus. Germany got their own culture for Cars.
1. all taxi's r BENZ
2. Police Drive BMW & PORSCHE
3. VW, MINI & AUDI'z line up the street
4. Rest drive OPEL / ROLLS ROYCE / LAMBO

Over 1 year ago i told you guys that the UK market will welcome the New Lexus Vehicles with open arms but all you guys begged to differ

Now i am being proved right. Most of the UK/Europe population are fed up with the Monopoly the German 3 have in the Luxury Vehicle Caegory and the Blatant Abuse of that power, The new Lexus Vehicles offers consumers Very High Quality Vehicles with Serious Luxury Features as standard which will be noticed by the target consumers. All that Ultimate Sporting Gibberish does not matter to the average 30 something Europen living in a country with serious Speed Restrictions/ Heavy Traffic and Rain 290 days of the year.

The previous Lexus Models were not up to Par

But Lexus are willing to do what the consumer wants in order to sell Vehicles

MB have been Too Proud in the past, Now they are eating Humble Pie.

I didn't know Audi sold three times better than BMW and Mercedes in the UK! Interesting... in fact, their UK sales are dangerously close to those of Mercedes and BMW in the US. Odd.

In March's monthly sales, Audi sold 20000, Mercedes 18000, Bmw 22000, Lexus 3100. I found the data at the SMMT (society for motor manufacturers and traders), maybe I should tell one of the Agents somehow...there's never any British data on this site, it's really useful.
I don't know how you got those figures caltrans, they're odd.

Why would you make such a false statement about Lexus customers that
"90% of them say it was a big mistake and cant wait to go back to German"?.
If you are in car sales, you obviously have 2 other jobs to help bring food to the table.

Generally speaking- once people try Lexus after countless problems with their German rides and arrogant dealers providing distasteful service, they never again consider anything but another Lexus. Our clients love the way we at the dealer level, and Lexus corporate coddle them in a warm luxury embrace.

mitch, something to consider.

"Generally speaking," in Europe (UK especially), the German brands are regarded to have very good reliability. It could be because their lower-end models are more simple- leading to less problems. But what I do remember is that the Audi A4 and A3, BMW 3 Series and one or two VWs were on the UK top ten most reliable list. The only Lexus on there was the IS.

once i experienced the sheer thrill of BMW's combination of handling, high-revving engines and great style, i've become incredibly loyal to the brand. works both ways depending on what you value.

separately, it's strange that despite mercedes quality issues in the 2003 and 2004 model years the brand's customers (epecially at the high end) remain extremely loyal.

Reliabilitis not as bad as indicated. The key survey out there, JD Power, lumps reliability issues in with blemishes in the leather hide. So they figures are useless other than being a numeric figure, but they have one heck of a PR machine

Enthusiastx11- I completely agree, and I do personally prefer the feel of the BMW/MBZ/Audi offerings to those of our Lexus products. My last 3 cars were of each of these makes. What Lexus does well however, is provide a complete luxury experience which is unparalleled when you consider the vehicle, the service, the dealers and the after purchase care and concern the corporation shows their clients. They essentially do not say "no" to a customer who has a need/concern/complaint. This is very different from the German makes- at least in my experience. And yes, Mercedes has tremendous loyalty which will help them weather this storm while they strive to get their act together in dependability -which they are working on feverishly.

Im 28 and have a 4.8is X5 as my dialy Runner// Have Rented Every Exotic Vehicle I could lay my hands on and Have So Many Speeding Tickets I have Warrants out for me in some Countries.

(ONLY THE LACK OF AN IS-350 IN THE UK STOPPED ME)

The New range of Lexus vehicles are rapidly closing the Performance Gap with BMW and MB while holding onto the Excellent Customer Service Reputation and Lexus Build Quality Reputation.

Trust Me on this, if MB and BMW do not wake up soon, they will find the European Marketplace a very Tough Arena.

(1) Have no need to see how Reliable a vehicle is after 200k miles/Kilometers because I usually change vehicles after approx 18-24 months,

(2) Not Proud of the Warrants, but they are not arrestable Warrants (Just have to pay the fines when i am next in the country

(3)Considering how many times I and my friends have had problems with BMW and MB vehicles (Brand New Vehicles)I cannot take you seriously if you are more worried about after 200k Miles.

Toyota & Lexus are known worldwide for reliabilty and Only an Utter Moron like yourself would deny it.

Others prefer to talk about Magic Feel or Handling or Soul that they feel Lexus Vehicles Lack, at least they are not trying to deny the fact that these vehicles are Rock Solid in Reliability.

For the record i do not own a Lexus, I currently have a BMW in London and an AUDI A6 Rental in Toronto but have to give Lexus credit for the great strides they have made in the Luxo-Sport Segment.

Middle East is also one of Lexus's fastest growing market.

On other note Lexus LX470 which is badged TOYOTA 'LAND CRUISER GENISSES II' in most of the countries of asia (India,China...etc) is also selling very well.

Spelling mistake.

It should be 'Cygnus II' not 'GENISSES II'

Lexus LX470 is badged as Toyota Land Cruiser Cygnus II in many Asian countries(Where Lexus is not officially sold).

Toyota Land Cruiser Amazon is nothing but A Toyota Land Cruiser with spare tire fitted at the bottom not on the rear tailgate.

Got it now.

All new 2008 Lexus LX570 will be known as Toyota land Cruiser Cygnus II (in countries where Lexus is not officially sold )

Considered reliable and proven reliable are two different concepts. The Germans were considered the best, Lexus PROVED them wrong.

If BMW/Audi/MB only need to sell on prestige alone, why all the 1.9 and 2.9% lease/finance rates around Toronto while Lexus is still getting 6.5%/6.9% on top of their already higher base prices? Even Honda can get 4.9% still.

It's nice to know the UK has once again proven they're the only EU country with any brains.

Smart consumers are informed consumers, the bane of the German 3. If they only cared about enthuisaists and brainless rich, they'd be perfectly happy selling 100,000 units as opposed to aiming for the "exlusivity" of a million+ units.

I'm a smart consumer who knows right now that the Germans are nowhere near where they used to be. They had a tumble off the stupid tree and hit every branch on the way down.
Prestige and magic feel should allow them to charge 15% interest, a "thank you" fee and a "we're not worthy" fee. Anyone can give their cars away (well, almost anyone).
