Dodge Challenger to have Hill Start Assist, Trak Pak
Allpar's normally reliable sources have posted a full list of the upcoming Dodge Challenger's powertrains, including two new features not known before. Hill Start Assist will help R/T and SRT-8 manual-transmission drivers by keeping the brake applied for a few moments while on hills, until the car senses the throttle reaching a certain point. Trak Pak is a new marketing name for the combination of the manual transmission, gearing, and limited-slip differential. This news reinforces the idea that Dodge is planning to make the Challenger a real driver's car and performer from the starting line.

hill assist is a great feature... my 335 coupe has it, its really helpful to have that 3 second delay on hills, especially when i was learning stick in the beginning
i think pretty soon all manual cars should have this feature

If they're chopping the Aspen, Magnum and PT Cruiers because of slow sales/gas mileage, what is the point of the Challenger?
Shouldn't Chrysler be focusing on higher volume, profitable cars rather than one-offs that are vulnerable if/when oil goes even higher?

i dunno who else has hill assist or was the first to use it, but good work. its obviously simple enough that dodge can adopt it, so expect to see it around alot more

"hmm nice to see them copying all the german luxury automakers (at least bmw)"
Uh-huh. I guess anyone using a high compression engine, onboard computer, bonded brake linings, electric wipers, digital fuel injection (1957), replaceable cartridge oil filters, ignition-key starting, safety rim wheels, rubber engine mounts, standard air filters, windshield cleaners, and computer stress-testing of auto suspensions is copying Chrysler, then? And of course the German luxury automakers (at least bmw) [sic] would be copying Studebaker, which had Hill Hold back in 1939.
