Dodge expects to sell up to 30,000 Challengers, convertible in the works
Chrysler has already sold out of the 6,400 units of the Dodge Challenger SRT8 it produced. But according to Chrysler’s new Vice Chairman, Jim Press, Dodge is expected to sell 20,000 to 30,000 units of its retro-styled Challenger once the full model line goes on sale.

“There’s already a waiting list for 2009 models,” he added.

Its only a model but you can get an idea. As for the setting up for a fall? 30k units is pretty decent for this car with orders already being filled and working into 2009.

Thanks, I wasn't even born until long after muscle cars were history but I'd love to cruise around in one of these.

I can see this being a great Drop Top. Big Cruiser with sporty suspension.

Well-There is according to Chrysler a waiting list for the 2009 model yr already. Also they are coming out with a convertable. If the SRT8 is $37995,then I would assume the base V6 is in the high 20's and the SRT is in the low 30's. I think the car will sell even if the interior is dissapointing.

it will sell. I think the exterior of the car is retro and modern enough that has a great stance and appeal to it. I love how it looks. Interior is so so, but that can always be upgraded if one chooses to. There are enough aftermarket companies out there, that can really update the interior.

The Challenger is too big and too heavy to be a sporty car. This car while better looking than the Charger is just a Charger with a lousy back seat. Within a year this thing will stall and than the Camaro will be hot for 6 months. What a waste of resources the Challenger and Camaro are.

i really hope the are right about this, i think they should keep production numbers low in order to keep demand high. alot of these retro models have a tendency to die out unexpectedly (ie ford T bird).

Like every retromobile, there will be a mad rush to get the first ones. Then, in 5 years or less, the market will have dried up and everyone will be looking for a vehicle that is more substance and less superficial.

The Challenger is the PT-cruiser for the next decade. Only difference is, the PT was dirt cheap to build and buy, whereas the Challenger is a $25k car with a $38k price tag.

Yes but soon there will be an SXT V6 engine and an RT Hemi engine cars that should be a bit less money to buy.

This car will look so nice with big wide tires in the back.

This is like owning a expansive mint classic muscle car but without the high cost maintenance.

This is a car to keep for a long time.
