After announcing the amazing fuel-economy on the 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid, which tops the Camry Hybrid by 8/2 mpg (city/highway), Ford announced today that the base 2010 Ford Fusion is now America’s most fuel-efficient sedan - again topping rivals Camry and Honda’s Accord.

The EPA has released official rating of the 4-cylinder 2010 Ford Fusion S at 34 mpg on the highway and 23 mpg in the city. The Fusion and the base-level Mercury Milan are both powered by a 175-hp 2.5L Duratec 4-cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 2010 Ford Fusion is also available with a 240-hp 3.0L V6.
