I like how much Infiniti/Nissan packs into this car for the price. With that said, the new BMW coupes (and the sedans which should follow the couple styling) are hard to beat. I would imagine this G35 is a better driver's car than the IS350, though.— crackityjones (View Profile)

I actually like the G35 more than the Lexus and the BMW. The Lexus doesn't look as expensive as it is. Not that it looks cheap but it will be mistaken for a cheaper car. I also don't mind saying that I just don't like the 3 series anymore. The styling doesn't work for me. I especially hate the rear end. The interior also is nothing special. The interior of the present car is not as nice as the previous 3 series interior. It feels cheap!!! The engine is fine and it drives nicely but man does not drive by engine alone. I do like the styling of the G35 and I think the interior is much improved. I haven't driven it yet but I am sure that it will be a nice ride too. Not to mention the price of entry in the Infiniti which will actually be reasonable. I think they'll do well with this car.T— TauronLB (View Profile)

nicer than the old one, I guess, but 3er see red? you are going to need to offer 500hp, and all the standard equipments of an S-klasse for $30K. IS, maybe, but 3er, no way...— Jovi (View Profile)

This car is awesome. It looks like a cross between the 3-series and the IS. I just wish Infiniti weren't so cheap on the inside. And don't the headlights look like the MB CLS-class? It has an awesome grille though. I like the car.— lexusis350 (View Profile)

BMW530, Performance on paper and real world are two different things. Many times the sum of the totals is different on the track or street. The G35 was pretty crude and plagued with cheap trim inside in the previous incarnations. Lets hope the quality is more up to par.But I do expect the performance level to be high for this vehicle.— PlanoA4 (View Profile)

BMW530i... you should be named NissanG35... what are you smokin? It will not exceed the driving capabilities and performance of the 3er. you probably mean the 325xi wagon. But of course, it will get smoked by just about every other 3er. IS350, maybe, thats for the Jap cars to fight it out. but the 3er, you are just stupid. change your name. — Jovi (View Profile)

i'd really like to see this model in person before commenting, but i think it looks ok. deffinately not ripping off any other company. i think the is350 is too similar in styling to the mazda3, which is great styling for a $14k car. but at $30k+, c'mon. i think the infiniti may be the closest competitor to the bmw in terms of driving feel and performance. but let's not forget mb is gonna drop the new c-class soon. they have seen everyone else's offering, and could suprise with a more bmw-like offering, with broader appeal in the styling department.— 1995e34 (View Profile)

infiniti will do it with rwd and the best v6 in the industry. infiniti isn't the best but have grown to be a very respectable manufacturer. they are stylish and understated. probably my third choice after bmw and mb. look at their sporting heritage too. probably the best of any japanese manufacturer. yes, i know honda and toyota do quite well too. — 1995e34 (View Profile)

1995e34: I agree that the RWD & the VQ engine differentiates Infiniti in the luxury segment. However, Infiniti does not have the heritage and product line-up (consistency in availability) as with the other players... Hence, Infiniti has a low brand value and does not attract the market share and opinion from the consumers that is needed. What would be your countermeasures to fix these problems amongst others?— essentielle (View Profile)

essentielle, good question. i guess the motorsport heritage is tied to nissan rather than infiniti. perhaps infiniti will have to build their reputation from scratch. all things considered, the launch of the original g35 just a few years ago has paired them against bmw in more than just a few reviews. as long as they focus on driving experience, they will build brand value. they got to the game late, but they've shown they can play. give em' some time.i think they had an ugly but capable q45. perhaps the next generation will be as pretty on the outside as the rest of their lineup. iknow its due for replacement sometime soon. poor thing looks like a baluga got buisy with a crown vic (full-size ford). — 1995e34 (View Profile)
