Electric Porsche 911 by Ruf breaks cover
Few weeks ago we said that RUF, the German tuner specialized in Porsche vehicles is currently developing a new electric Porsche (we talked about a Cayman but it seems things are changed! ). Well, the waiting is over and today the manufacturer unveiled its masterpiece.

Although is still a concept, the new electric Porsche 911 (997) features a 204 hp (150kW) electric engine which is capable to provide an astonishing 650 Nm of torque and a sprint from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 7 seconds.

Should have gone with a switched reluctance motor. Higher power density and it actually makes some noise (sounds like a superbike at WOT but off in the distance).

I thought the Cayman version had higher alleged performance. 6+ second 0-60 times are just going to be bait for electric detractors.

What ever happened to the Ronaele Mustang 300E? That thing was purported to produce 300hp/1000ft/lbs trq and do 0-60 under 5 seconds, with an electric forklift motor.

Star, please comment.....

I quote "It appears that Lexus finally accepts defeat and is ready to concentrate on making electric carts from now on. We can only hope that other Japanese econobox makers will follow."

And now one of the European tuners is doing electric.......
