WHO CARES!, autopro!?
Save it for the next Lexus article. It's unlikely that "your" hybrid is even a sports car, so why even bring it up? Besides, the Audi get 45mpg U.S.

isn't 45mpg as good as the prius?? that is amazing audi especially for a more sport oriented car keep up the good work. but the prius is getting old now so it is not too good of a comparison.

45 is pretty dang good. thing to remember with this is with a 0-60 time of 7.5 its really not too quick. i always think of TTs as at least mildly quick

Agreed, 7.5 seconds for a 2.0 litre diesel that gets 45mpg is damn good. The only car with a 2.0 litre diesel that's quicker is the BMW 123d that does 0-60 in 7.0 seconds, and that's twin-turbocharged.

the Audi 2.0 tdi is twin turbocharged. I can't think of any automaker that produces a Diesel engine without turbos, anymore.

It's turbocharged but it's not twin-turbocharged. A diesel without turbo's is a very lethargic device indeed, i remember my friend having an old Citroen diesel that was un-turbocharged, there was no real acceleration to speak of. :P

An unturbocharged diesel will probably rev to only about 2000-2500 rpm, and will be sluggish and will not have fantastic fuel economy.

And 7.5 seconds is not slow. It's quick.

The only unturbocharged diesel i can think of is the VW 2.0 SDI engine which went out of production last year. Produced 75hp @ 4200RPM and 140nm @ 2200RPM.
