Exclusive:: 001 Uncovers Audi R8 Pricing for the US Market
Though it is still unofficial 001 has uncovered from reliable sources the the new Audi R8 US models will be about $110k to $115k for a nicely equipped model.

This positions the new R8 very favorably in the supercar marketplace and makes it a bargain compared to many of the hot Italian marquees.

Way more than I thought. If this is just for the V8, how much will the V10 be?

Keyword: nicely equipped. That means an R8 loaded up with options. That means the base price will be in the 95-100,ooo range. Just like it has been known for a while.

$95-100,000 sounds about right. It bases slightly higher than the 911C4S but I'm certain it will have more standard equipment than the Porsche.

Yes, Porsches aren't standard with anything. Power seats, xenons, six-disc CD, heated seats, leather steering wheel, even a blue exterior color- all extra-cost options. The list is never-ending. I built a Carrera Cabriolet online for fun (it might be my next prized posession in a few years), and with options that would only equal my $63K S4 Cabriolet's, it was about $98K.

I was playing around and built a C4s Cabrio. $133,000.

Oh, and Porsche is the only company that can get away with it. I love the 911, and wouldn't want to get this, because it won't come in convertible.

Even if/when it does, it'll be too late (knowing Audi), and it'll be too expensive. I don't plan on spending over $100K.

I think that price point is fair considering how cool the car is.

it is good that 001 knows the price because AOA is still in negoation with Audi Germany for pricing.

Expect pricing (real pricing) > 90 days before launch

W/ the falling USD and rising Euro, I would not be sure about that range.

This does make it harder for European manufacturers to sell cars here for big profit as the same cars are sold at a much higher price back in Europe.

this thing looks a hell of a lot more exotic than a 997. There is gonna be long waiting list.

Well the word is there will be about 200-300 the first yeat (remember we get them late in 2007) then ramping production to 1000 a year. At that pace they are sold out for over a year

Yes, Audi will only build 15 per day, but maybe that number will rise.

In my town, which has a population of about 700k, our Audi dealership is getting one, and I have a nonrefundable deposit on it guaranteeing that the car will be mine. =] Yes, act fast! Beverly Hills Audi had a waiting list of 11 the last time I checked.

Well,Audi is asking a lot.115K for R8 with 420BHP.
I doubt this will be successful. That's nearly 40K above RS4.
Is paying $40K over RS4 worthful ?
When both have same engine and performance.

U decide.yes even u Audi fans.

2 completely different cars....
RS4 is Front Engine; the R8 is Mid Rear Engine.
The R8 is over 400 lbs less than the RS4.
I absolutely love the RS4, but the R8 is much better balanced and will do even better at the track.
The R8 is already sold out in Germany.
My dealer in Plano, Tx has 12 sold!!

That is for a "nicely" equipped R8. That means base is around the $100K mark, which is slightly more than a 911 C4S, but the performance advantages are clear.

Look for a "nicely" equipped V10 to hit the $130K range with a base price around $120K

Cool car, too expensive. A fully loaded 500hp M6 is $109k, up from $106 last year.

Of course the BMW M6 will be cheaper than the Audi R8. The R8 is Audi's supercar or exotic performance car.

Yes, the M6 is the closest current thing to a BMW supercar, but its designed to be a fast-luxury Grand Tourer not a light-weight, 2 seater, all-out supercar the way the R8 is.

JRobUSC..I'm wondering what the value of debating the price is... The market will decide that and it already has. This is a low vol car.. they plan to make no more than 3,500 a year worldwide, and the US should get about 1/3 of that. Many US dealers already have deposits and the car was just launched. I'm willing to bet it will be sold out..

It is already sold out. If you order one today, you will not be able to get it for approximately 1 1/2 years.
