If you have been keeping tabs on the political squabbling in F1, you may have come across a fiery swap of letters between the F1 drivers and the regulatory board accountable for their race accreditation.The Grand Prix Drivers Association sent an outraged letter to Max Mosely after the FIA increased the fees for a Superlicense by leaps and bounds.

The Superlicense, which is certificate that the FIA grants and requires F1 drivers, currently costs a mind-boggling $270,000. The letter compared this to a corresponding certification from NASCAR which costs only a measly $4,000 (compared to the FIA’s new fee rate). Mosely’s reply to the driver’s complaint is that they should find other racing series to join if they cannot afford the FIA fees.
