. ..Toyota is on a mission to make Lexus sportier and more compelling to potential buyers -- and it starts with the LF-LC, which was designed at Toyota's Calty studio in Newport Beach, Calif.Company executives said in January that the flashy 2+2 sports coupe was not planned for production. But several Lexus insiders now say the overwhelming reaction means it almost certainly will come to market.Dealers could see the coupe in their showrooms within three years......It also would be targeted further upscale, against the Porsche 911 Turbo and Aston Martin Vantage, both of which tickle the $120,000 mark... 2012 Detroit Auto Show Photo Gallery Read Article

911 Turbo for 120K? maybe a 996 Turbo from 8 years ago. a 991 will set you back 140K to start. Plus options, at least 150K-170K. Aston, ok, starts at 120K, but good luck finding one for under 130K. Oh, right, and about this car... Its not a good looking car. Proportions are off and too many vents and accents all around. Keep it simple...— ThierryHenry14 (View Profile)

I agree this is not a drivable market car; but it's bold and does have impact. Toyota pretty much has its hooks in a lot of brands these days and now Aston Martin is another piece of Toyota's resume… http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A//www.telegraaf.nl/autovisie/autovisie_nieuws/astonmartin/12589153/__Mogelijk_Toyota-motoren_in_Aston_Martins__.html&hl=en&langpair=auto|en&tbb=1&ie=ISO-8859-15— Baby (View Profile)

...Yeah and I guess Lexus would take your opinion over all the positive consumer reaction and feedback data...right? Wrong, in fact wrong as 2 left shoes. Keep it simple you say, not on your life! Lexus is only interest in their objectives being sales, profitability, renown engineering, quality, and consumer feeback which is provoking them to bring to production all these great products we see coming down the turnpike(highway). My hats off to Mr Akio Toyoda, incoming President as of 2009. He's the man behind all these hot rods we've seen since the Lexus IS-F, LFA, GS350 F Sport, FR-S etc...and now this absolutely beatiful LF-LC. — lexworld (View Profile)

Yes, and Toyota does not care about my opinion because I am not going to purchase one. They also do not care what anyone else who is not in the market for one thinks. And they also will not publicize if they had more negative responses than positive response. So what is your point?I'm stating my opinion in the second paragraph and unless you are the designer of this car and I personally offend you, I apologize. But since you are not, calm down...— ThierryHenry14 (View Profile)

I hope LEXUS thus indeed stays true to this prototype. This will be a knockout for sure. This is what we need in order to completely change the image of LEXUS and have all the non-belivers believing instead of building supped up TOYOTAS like the ES-350. That is the way to compete with PORSCHE & ASTON MARTIN. Not with cars that anyone can afford and mimic luxury.— USNA1999 (View Profile)

I'm skeptical. It needs to be a match for the GT-R.— quizz (View Profile)

Good luck to Lexus for competing with Porsches and Aston Martins. The only problem is that the people who are in the market for Porsches and Aston Martins care only about one thing, can you guess what it is? It's called prestige, something Lexus does not have.— F1_Driver (View Profile)

Dude, you are an idiot! What is your definition of Prestige? Age? Trophies? Fine then that is Prestige... What about everything else? You know, the stuff that really matters, makes a REAL difference; not because somebody won some race, but rather change anything and everything we know about cars today…PERIOD! Too me that is prestige; age and trophies seem pretty insignificant. — Baby (View Profile)
