Ferrari, Toyota, BMW, McLaren, All Abandon Formula 1

Smart move. Hopefully this will stop the FIA from destroying F1. Bring back the V10's, traction control, launch control, and all of the other exciting aspects of the racing they stripped out of the sport.

Breakaway series name can still be F1, not formula 1 but FOTA 1.
I would definitely follow a series where Ferrari and other top teams are than campos and lola like teams.

Here is hoping for a ultimate race league without all the restriction... i.e. max downforce large displacement turbo'd awd cars that weigh less then 1000lbs. I can dream right? :P

If the two sides can't come to an agreement it will end up being like the IRL vs. CART here in America, which destroyed grand prix racing in the states. Granted Formula 1 overseas is actually a huge success compared to grand prix here, so you never know. There's just too much history in Formula 1 for these teams to go form a new series. They'll raise the spending limit to somewhere near what the teams would spend anyway and it will get resolved. You know all these teams are more pissed that Brawn keeps winning with the new rear air diffuser (that I believe Ferrari protested too at the start of the season claiming an unfair advantage by Brawn) to give them better traction and they're just acting like spoiled brats because they didn't figure it out first. Ah...sore losers...great aren't they.

This is hard for me to say because I love Ferrari, BUT they are also not happy with not winning all the time, same to McLaren. Therefore they are quitting instead of trying to beat Brawn. They are crybabies and also Bernie Ecclestean/whatever is a very greedy ass wipe that is finished...finally! He made rule changed that no one likes, not even lesser teams. Without Ferrari, F1 is no longer F1 its F'ed for sure!

As much as I'd like to see a racing series with real technical innovation, competition, and relevance to actual cars (eg: incorporating all the electronic aids which are fairly standard in production cars now, so they can be improved and refined), I think it's still a power-struggle type move at this point. Until/unless the FIA drops all the objecting teams from the schedule for 2010, and/or the FOTA has made actual plans and spent actual money forming a new racing series, it's still just posturing.

Well, between Toyota, Ferrari and BMW alone they have the operational capitol to break-away and form their own orginazation. Which reminds me why Toyota would apt for the V10 engine in their upcoming supercar the Lexus LF-A. Man what a smart move...makes you wonder if they saw this coming and new a small V10 engine is the way to go. Way to go Toyota. Congrads to Mr. Akio Toyoda new top dog over Toyota Corp.

Why isn't there more articles about NASCAR? That is some exciting stuff I tell ya. Just Kidding people. Look at my toolish user name for crying out loud. People, don't ever move to the midwest! You only see Chevy Cobalts and Ford F150s on the road all the time, and even the rich ones only drive Lexus here. Talk about a place with no fun and culture.

Well, there goes FORMULA 1. McLaren, BMW, Ferrari are out those are marquee names, that is going to hurt F1 majorly. This will mean F1 will be saturated with some low-budget teams trying to make it. Wherever McLaren, BMW, Ferrari, Toyota, and any other teams who decides to leave F1 , fans will follow.

The split from USAC in 1978 (first race in 1979) was spurred by a group of activist car owners who had grown disenchanted with what they saw as an inept sanctioning body.
