Ferrari considers taking on the Porsche Cayenne SUV
That’s right; Ferrari is considering an Italian Stallion SUV. According to a report by AutoExpress, Ferrari is considering an SUV to rival the success of the Porsche Cayenne which will open up the Ferrari brand to a huge new customer base.

Codenamed ‘Project G151,’ the Ferrari SUV is still in its early stages and has yet to be passed by the big guys at the Italian automaker who are nervous of opening up the brand to the masses. The Ferrari SUV probably won’t be a true off-roader but a crossover that will have a choice of...

this has been in the rumor mill for a while theres not enough production capability with the models they have now in maranello. Also there in the process of developing the 599 convertible and the f430 replacement. I highly doubt this from what I've heard.

I think it would be much cooler if it was a Maserati. Imagine the general shape of the Cayanne but with the face of the new Maserati coupe. I dont think an SUV makes sense under the Ferrari brand. I still wouldnt buy an SUV unless it can go off road.

I agree M35MT, a Maser SUV would make a lot more sense (but still not much). The Ferrari brand is too valuable to water down w/ a crappy SUV. If they want to expand their clientele bring on the Dino, but let Maser stick to the sedans and SUVs.

The question is will the Ferrari purists whine about this more than the Porsche purists whined about the Cayenne?

stupidest idea since...Porsche's suv. make a sedan if your feeling frisky, but not an suv.

Porsche was brillaint. Past lineup only catered to overly macho males. The Cayenne was the solution to get the rest of the family into a Porsche. And sales have steadily increased with the majority being in the SUV area. Soccer moms don't like sedans.

It's the solution for people that want it all. Exotic nameplate, high performance, utility. These companies are smart and they do their homework before randomly producing vehicles. Let's embrace change.

We don't need another gas guzzler. Ferrari should make a Sporty hatchback instead.
