Ferrari’s Future: New 2+2 V8 coupe in 2008, new Supercar in the works
Ferrari just revealed the new F430 Scuderia at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show. The lightweight version of the F430, the Scuderia weighs 1250kg, 100kg less than the F430 and is powered by a 4.3 liter V8 engine that produces 510 horsepower.

Increasing performance wasn’t the only factor behind making the new Scuderia. As the world shifts towards more environmentally friendly cars, Ferrari is changing as it tries to become a little greener.

Now there are talks that the next supercar will be lighter, more fuel efficient with 500 horsepower being the maximum prerequisite.

A turbo in a Ferarri? Doesn't sound right.

Ferarri has had turbos in the past, 288 GTO, F40 to name a couple.

Actually the idea of becoming lighter and creating cars that have less of an environmental impact is old news but as for the cars that EGM is predicting, I do have not read or heard anything official especially a 2+2 V8.

v8 tt...i dunno, ferrari's are known for their growl from the 12cyl..not the whistling from a blow-off valve.

besides ferrari is an exotic car, and exotic cars need to worry about more important things than a green-machine!

Well, if you still want to see the occasional Ferraris on our roads, they'll need one "green" model to stay afloat. Obviously, it will still have glorious sports car attributes, but for the rest of us, an F430 or 599 GTB would be well-suited.

BMW has shown that with the electronic advances, turbo charged engines (335i) are almost seamless in their operation. I'm sure Ferrari will do a great job with theirs.
