Fiat S.
p.A. is pursuing a target of the later part of 2011 to release the first all-new Chrysler model to the U.S. market, according to unnamed sources. Fiat will also create a new Ram brand for its truck line (Dodge-branded trucks) under a revival plan for Chrysler Group that will be brought to the U.S. government this week.
To recall, Fiat assumed management control of Chrysler under a reorganization funded by the Obama administration. Fiat is currently set to brief officials with the White House auto task force on what its plans are to revamp Chrysler’s vehicle lineup. In addition, Fiat will compress the normal vehicle development plan. That will be in addition to the Fiat 500, a subcompact that will be introduced in the U.S. market by late 2010.
