A 7-Series competitor? That's funny. It looks like a Chinese knock-off of something. Nothing specific. But a Chinese bastardization of a car someone else designed. Pretty gross.

Why Daphne Alabama? It's a nice area, but by no means would I say that's their top market! Maybe I'm losing it and missed something here.... I grew up near and around this town, my sister still lives and works just a few miles away (the towns all flow together).

I don't see anyone paying that much for a Hyundai, no offense. The car is highly over priced and should be priced to compete with the Avalon, Maxima, Accord, etc.

I am going to wait for the Chinese knock-off. It has to have a more attractive grille than the one Hyundai decided on. Who told them Frugly was better than the bland look of the Genesis?

Most of you are talkin' out of your ass. Equus will feature more than 10 world first technologies, the standard feature list alone will put shame to the overpriced euro trash. Many dealerships around the country already has them on display. Equus is another home run by Hyundai.

First, what kind of person can afford a $65K car? (ANY $65K car).

thstone has a very good point. I am sure that it is a well-built car, but the 65k crowd isn't going to take it seriously. Not quite yet. Now is not the time to do this. Let the Genesis set a proper name and prove the brand with the 45k crowd. Then, in a few years, maybe two Equus generations down the line, they can try again. It's all about snob appeal up in that ballpark. Value has little or no place. Hence, Hyundai, has little or no place. I have a friend who hates Hyundai. Had never drvien in one, doesn't know anybody who has ever owned/driven one of the new ones (mine was a 1987 so doesn't really count), yet gave them NO rating. I begged her to go with me to the local Hyundai dealer to have a look at what they had. We left the dealership with her being VERY impressed and eager to set up a test drive. But she's no convert yet. It will take time.

Rather than just showcasing it, maybe they should do these 3 things.

1. Ask how many people would be willing to fork over $75,000 for a Hyundai.
2. Time how long it takes for them to find the Hyundai name on this car (if its even on there).
3. Ask them what car they thought it was first based on the design ripoffs.

I doubt Hyundai wants to know the answer to any of those questions.

Wow, its going to be listed at $65,000. So much for the $90,000 they thought they could get when they first announced it.

Ventilated seats. Now there's something nobody else has :s Should garner them COTY since its the first time the Koreans have done this (unless the Amanti/Azera have it).

$41,000 base? Does Hyundai even know who they're pricing this car against? This car is probably what the Genesis should've been when Hyundai designed their Avalon-killer.

Equus will be a technological marvel alright, showcasing technologies everybody else had on their cars years ago...today.
You may have missed my sarcasm but plenty of other car manufacturers have heated/cooled seats, front and rear.

What is 'Parking Guidance System'? Does it park itself or just give you tips? The latter was be extremely lame and not much of a first to brag about.

What are these 10 technological firsts? The 4 listed above are already on the road with several manufacturers.
Let me guess, rear iPod adapter? 19" runflats as opposed to the current 18"? x+1 speaker stereo system? Lower price? Bigger nav screen? Wiper AND nozzle headlight cleaners? Integrated FRONT window antenna? etc etc.

Silly me, I guess the company that designed the system (Amerigon) and licensed it to Hyundai (since 2004 in Korea) doesn't realize they stole the design off of Hyundai.
