First Look: 2008 Audi S8
The Audi crazy guys over at Fortitude, have dug up some pictures of the 2008 Audi S8. The 2008 Audi S8 follows the same refreshening as the new Audi A8 with new exterior mirrors, new wheel designs and new-look LED taillights.

However, Audi hasn’t touched the 5.2 FSI V10 engine that produces 450 horsepower. The 2008 Audi S8 the ability to do 0-60 in...

Beautiful, that interior looks like it would fit like an expensive, well put together glove. :D

Ahhhh, one of my favourite cars.

Yes, beautiful, but it would look better with black/grey wood trim.

Just for you, Gray Vavona Wood is standard. The Carbon Fiber inlays are a $500 US option.

Thank you! :)

CF isn't for everyone, especially in a car in this class (full size flagships).

Did you not read the article braniac ??? It has LED's, just like the rest of the 2008 A8 line-up. You should actually try reading the article, before posting a dumbass response !!!

It has had LED daytime running lights since it came out. So has the W12 for that matter.

Not as ugly as the 7-Series, not as pretentious as the S-Class.

Agreed.

Audi should sell a LWB version of the S8 in the US. I'd think most of their volume is LWB in the A8 anyway.

Shorter wheelbase lends to better handling characteristics overall. The W12 is the long wheelbase high performance model with even more torque and the same hp. In 2007 it could have been ordered with the sport suspension package. For 2008 that is no longer the case.

Still one of my absolute favorite cars. Italian V10, classic German styling and build quality and one the greatest interiors of all time.

God I love this thing.

I actually drove one of these S8s lately and the sound and acceleration is just so smooth.. It's definitely much faster then my A8 4.2, especially above 220 kmh. Although Audi says the S8 is limited to 250 kmh, I did 277 kmh GPS verified. At around 260 kmh it shifts into top gear. Unbelievable.

man, the A8 is a becoming like the XJ. very very little changes over time, not that great sales, kind of....unspectacular.

I love the S8's conservative, yet at the same time agressive look. If only I could afford it..

New A8 is coming in 2010.

Anyway, if you've ever seen a 2007 S8 on the road, you'd know why it's on our dream car lists. It takes the A8 and freshens it, everywhere, perfecting every detail. Amazing 20" rims!

Utahnkid, Don't agree. The Audi interior is way more modern than then the 7 or S, and caters to the needs of its occupants in a way pictures or videos will never capture. The 7 and S are still in the old school.. just put in some wood and you're fine design adage. In addition to using wood tastefully, Audi experiments with materials most people can't even identify. Everything you see is pleasing to the eye and everything you touch exudes quality and has a very contemporary feel. Everything smells good...yes smells wonderful. Ha ha. If you think about it, Audi bombards all your senses with the right inputs, except taste (although I can't say I know what Audi onwers do with their tongues while in the car...). That said, you're absolutely right about the higher quality of materials than the 7 or S. There are so many things that feel natural and perfectly executed, its very difficult to explain all unless you've actually spent time in all three cars. For example, rest your arm on the arm rest without looking and your fingers naturally fall on the volume button..everything just works so well, and to me that's what luxury is all about...nothing to complain about!! Its like having an invisible attendant at your call at any time. No frustration with buttons, no tacky pieces, excellent seating, visibility, Intuitive MMI etc.. etc..
What's amazing is that the basic layout for the interior (carbon fiber finish for the S8 is new but follows the same layout) has been around for 5 years now and it still trounces anything out there. The interior of the new benz is a good improvement from the prior model, but still not up to Audi standards, The 7 has always has a rather generic interior no "wows" nothing special, not as nice the Benz inside, and quite frankly it has never been, and I they've always struggled with Ergonomics. Pictures are nice, but sit in or better still drive one and you'll be sold. Audi is the benchmark for interior design, and no one comes close!!!

Eh, different opinions. I love everything about this car, inside out. It is in fact the only navi screen I've really found elegant, because it can either be streamlined into the beautiful trim on the dash or appear to be a futuristic computer screen that complements the architecture of the interior. No criticism from anyone else will change that opinion. I find that most of the integrated systems are less effective- S-Class/7 Series have a strange hump in the dash, Lexus models have screens that are set too low, etc.

Wow... I've fallen in love with the 8, again.

I was feeling the same was as utahnkid- it's getting old.

But now, NO. Even the smallest differences get me interested. This is the perfect luxury sedan:

• Ultra-luxurious interior

• Understated, timeless, silky styling

• Superb ride/handling balance

• Great power in the standard V8, but even better with the S8's V10

• Not overpriced, like one other car here

• Not a bad gas-guzzler (4.2), like that same car

• Amazing in every detail, every way, anywhere you drive it

I will have to find some way to get an A8/S8 into our garage...

Beautiful car but it doesn't keep me looking long...since I've seen the same design for the last 4 years...on all their sedans. Still beautiful, but eh,I've moved on
