First Look Subaru's STI based rally car for 2008
Subaru's STIrring sight for Frankfurt


A Subaru World Rally Car concept based on the new generation Impreza will be unveiled at Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

New Impreza is due to go on sale in Australia in September, followed by the WRX STI version around February next year.

According to Fuji Heavy Industries, the maker of Subaru vehicles, the concept “…conjures up images of future styling trends for a world rally car.”

I mean tame it down for the commom folk. You know improved ride, reduced NVH added weight lower performance etc.

The car is definitely watered down. The look is a 180 degree departure from what WRC and WRX fans expect and want. With that said, Subaru rocks hard.

turbo 28 this new wrx is lighter than the previous models. yes its looks have been toned down,but the word on the street is the new sti will be faster and handle better than any other previous model.

It might be lighter but nobody that's tested it seems to think its as quick. Don't get me wrong I am number#1 Subie fan but I'm no in love with the direction right now

ronnsscooby, that's correct however we'll have to see what the numbers say. And the put it to the ultimate test...the seat test. Who said Volvo for life...it should be Subaru for life. Yellow cake!!!
