It’s also worth comparing the GT with bigger-engined, naturally aspirated rivals such as the 2.

0-litre Subaru Impreza 2.0R and 2.3-litre Mazda3 SP23. The 1.4-litre Golf is more powerful, more efficient and cleaner than either.

I have tried this car with the 1,4 tsi 170hk engine last summer for 4days and all I can say is I really loved this engine.
It´s a beauty!

My average fuel consumption was 7,1 liter/100km and I wasn't going slowly.

I heard it was jerky and whiny, and also it is expensive. Only like 1000 quid less than the GTi, but it is quite quick, and it is a very good technology that I believe can be implemented in many cars, but I just think it isn't quite right at the moment.
