First look at Hennessey's new Veyron beater
Hennessey is most widely recognized for its Viper Venom series of cars, highly modified versions of the Dodge Viper developing up to 1,000hp in some guises. The most powerful model even beat the Bugatti Veyron in a sprint to 200mph during a recent shoot-out conducted by Road & Track. With credentials like that under its belt, Hennessey is now planning to build a direct rival to super exotics like the Veyron by developing a new mid-engined supercar using its 1,000hp twin-turbo V8 engine from the Viper Venom.
This teaser sketch was revealed during a recent video interview with Hennessey founder John Hennessey. Hennessey describes the car as having the power of the Viper Venom but weighing 363kg (800lbs) less. The engine would be mounted up back with drive sent to the rear wheels via a sequential gearbox. The car would also feature a very low coefficient of drag and the first concept version is scheduled to be unveiled in the near future.

Bet you it will be ugly and have a cheap interior, too.

Gotta love these 1-off specialty cars. So pointless.

I think they meant "1,000hp twin-turbo V10 engine from the Viper Venom"
I'd like to see them go at it. The Saleen S7tt, though not much of a success at Lemans, is quite a fantastic car! I would nearly take it over the Bugatti.... nearly. If they can pull off the same kind of ridiculous styling, weight and performance as Saleen did but with a Bugatti interior, I think they would have an amazing car.

Making a 1000 hp car is easy. Making a Bugatti Veyron competitor is pretty much impossible.

agreed..yes there are probably alot of cars that are faster then a veyron but a veyron is not just some 250+ mph drag car..come on people, whatever this is, S4cabriofoxone has said it "ugly and have a cheap interior"..veyron is so much more then just speed, you could use it as a daily driver and it'd be comfortable to get aroudn in, you sit inside and you'd be bathed with luxury and craftmanship of the finest...viper doesn't have any of this crap, the interior on a viper looks like something you can find on just about any other Dodge tisk tisk

The interior is the easiest part of building a car like this, it's only a matter of spending money. Comparisons to the Viper are pointless, the reason Hennessey is building this car is because its NOT a Viper. Considering the concept hasn't even been shown yet, it's foolish to rule anything out.
