First the new Audi TT is announced, now a 'Baby' TT on the way?
We've uncovered top-secret plans that reveal Audi is in the early stages of developing a thrilling lightweight sports car to rival the Lotus Elise.
Our exclusive pictures in this week's mag show how the German maker's now familiar chrome grille and aggressive headlights look in a roadster package. Designed to major on driving thrills, the newcomer will be highly exclusive, with only a limited number of examples planned.

Nate-
Before opening your piehole get your facts straight!! Mercedes-Benz shares just as many platforms as any other company out there. How about the new Mercedes-Benz Commander.....I mean the GL. Sharing directly from the JEEP COMMANDER!!
At least others admit they share for cost effectiveness. What happened Nate couldn't make a living selling Audi's???????

To suggest that Audis are just rebadged VWs is completely naive. You clearly have no knowlege about either product line.

Sure Audi and VW share the 2.0 T engine, one of the best four cylinder engines in the world. They share the Golf platform with the A3 and Golf and GTI, again not a bad platform to share. The Q7 Touareg and the Porsche Cayenne, again not a bad platform. So it looks that Audi does share techology with VW, but it does not make Audi worse as they share some great technology between each other. Just a great way of cutting down on some costs. So I am not sure what Nate is talking about.

The Facts...
The A4 and A6 are built on Audi exclusive platforms, NOT shared by VW.
Next year, Audi will debut its new flexible platform architecture with the A5. This Audi-only platform (again, NOT shared by VW) will support the forthcoming A5 Coupe/Cabriolet, A4 sedan, forthcoming A8, the next A6, and eventually the A3 and even the MK3 TT (the new TT began development before this new platform was finalized).
Engines like Audi's aluminum 3.2 liter FSI longitudinal engine are NOT the same as VW's steel 3.2 liter transverse engine. Audi is one of the world's largest engine manufacturers. Audi engines include two of Ward's top 10 engines: the 2.0TFSI and 4.2 FSI. Again, these are NOT VW engines. Audi has a separate technology division from VW. This is what separates Audi from brands like Acura, Lexus, and Infinity.
Anyone claiming that all Audi's are rebadged VW's know nothing about the European auto industry.
