Fisker Automotive has decided to buy a former GM assembly plant in the eastern state of Delaware where it will build its Nina plug-in electric car starting 2012.

Fisker reportedly intends to roll out 100,000 Nina EVs annually in the US . Each car is estimated to be priced at US$47,000.

The big announcement is set to be made on Tuesday at the Wilmington plant. Henrik Fisker, CEO and founder of the firm, and US vice president Joe Biden, a former Delaware senator, will be there to inform everyone about this development.
