I much prefer the Altima over the camry and last generation Accord. But the new accord is really nice.

I think the new Accord tries too hard to look like a 5-series. Honestly, I think the last gen Accord was much nicer.
Maybe I just haven't grown into it yet... I didn't like the Altima when it first came out either, now I do.

I think the Accord is just fine. Most people who buy in this class of car don't really care what the car looks like, it's the reliability they're buying.

i agree with adam. i LOST RESPECT for honda since they jumped on the bandwagon, adopting the ungainly Kinky Hoff design.
the C pillar is the most prominent feature on a car's profile/side view. why throw a BOAT ANCHOR design element there, when you'd want the car to look sleek?
i have high respect for hondas otherwise, but the new accord looks fugly to me.

Between the Ford F150 and the Chevy Silverado over 1 Million Pickups were sold in the USA in 2007 ??
Bloody Hell
Are there that many Builders/Lumberjacks/Handymen/Landscapers in the USA ?

Yes, many, many more than that. But only about 25% of them (pulled that out of experience of when I worked construction in college) actually drive full size trucks.

Heh, come down to Texas, you'll see where all of them are sold. It's just another car for us down here.

Why do you need to be a builder or a landscaper. Some people (a lot, it seems) actually like pickup trucks. What part of that don't you understand? If you can afford to put gas in it, then buy it. What's the big deal about pickup trucks?

i own a pickup, but it's a COMPACT toyota pickup. it can haul 3/4 ton, same as the full-sizers. main diff is just the volume of the bed. and...
i get up to 34 mpg on trips! and mid- to high 20s day in and day out.

Just goes to show that people and I mean regular people don't give a hoot about good performance and history/"the soul a car has"/etc every time. I'm intrigued that BMW/Audi/MB are not up there??

Well I'm not intrigued that BMW/MB/Audi is not up there, becuase look at the price range of those cars...
If everyone was rich, then money is useless.
BTW.. Audi/BMW/MB/Lexus are all luxury vehicles in the USA and living here in the USA doesnt mean that every1 is rich in real life. To be able to drive any luxury car is fortunate/lucky (or you work hard for it)... Reality check is that there are many low and mid class income earners (few high incomes).

Those are luxury cars dumb ass. Why would they be on the best sellerl list? If that many people could afford luxury cars, then cheaper cars wouldn't even exist. The general population drives economy to midsize mainstream brand cars. Do you think more Americans shop at Wal Mart or Neiman Marcus?

BMW is on the top ten list in Britain...the 3 series is the 10th bestseller, ahead of the Mondeo and Vectra and other non-premium saloons.

That's because you have a 320d there. The base model here is the 328i, which is always optioned up on dealer lots.

I agree with you on the Corolla/Matrix. For instance the Boxter/Cayman are considered separate vehicles. The Boxter ended up on the 10 worst sellers list. I believe it's sales were canibalized by the introduction of the Cayman. These vehicles are pretty similar, are definately cross shopped, moreso than the Corolla/Matrix, IMO.

Look most people in this country are plain folk, they think a BMW is short for Buy My Widget they don't have a clue about cars they want their safe feeling pick up truck and 4 wheel drive for the bad weather.
Where you see all the cars is in warm climates where young people want to live and the well healed folks.
My realitives back East all they can see is a Ford or Chevy and a mention of Chrysler, anything that is eye catching or racy is forbidden they get scared of it, they shiver, they can't see themsleves in anything but the old stand buy names.
Where i live i rarely see a Impala and have to drive to farm country to see all the pick ups, BMW's and Benz are like candy but to most this is not normal they can't cope with the new world order i guess long live apple pie and Chevrolet?

Impala. Now, that's something else. I rented one at Avis to go to Disney with my 5 y/o.
The end result is the words "Rent" and "Disney" will forever haunt me when I hear the word "Impala" again.
They were all made for each other.

If I bought a white Camry, I would never find it in a parking lot, so I bought an '07 Saturn Aura Hybrid for my wife to drive. Paid only $800 more for the hybrid than they wanted for the standard version. So far, so good, but only around 29 mpg overall. By comparison, my Jetta TDI (diesel) is averaging me around 44 mpg. They'll be an Aura diesel here in 2011, but I couldn't wait until the Fall of 2010 for a new car, even if it will be a 250 hp diesel that gets 35 mpg.
