Ford Edge crossover hot on the heels of its rivals?
The Edge ranks third in midsize-crossover sales, behind the Nissan Murano and Toyota Highlander. Last month, the Edge was fewer than 1,000 sales away from the top spot, capturing about 16% of the midsize-crossover market. Of the 68,439 crossovers sold, 10,915 were Edges. Read Article

The Highlander is about eight years old. The Murano is about four years old. They're still beating the Edge.

Enough said.

Good point. Once Toyota and Nissan update their designs, Edge sales will plummet.

At least this is a hit for Ford... they need it.

S4 you're the devil...stop trying to rain on Ford's only reason to wake up in the morning you big jerk. From now on I'm snarling at every S4 cab I pull up next to in hope that its you.

At the moment, I hate Ford. Their subpar products are inexcusable, they overpay their execs (look at what Mullaly got for doing nothing!) and they have no discernable direction. GM is doing much, much better. I'm all for the return of the Big Three, but at this rate, Ford won't be part of it.

Thank God....Ford needs hot selling vehicles. Also, so the Highlander and Murano are above the Edge and they're older, I know....Exactly the point. They've been around longer so they have a base audience where the Edge is still trying to attract to converts from Japanese (or would that be trying to re-attract old customers?!?!).

I wonder if fleet sales are counted in the Ford totals...

I think this is an atractive car but the badge does scare me from buying.

I like the Edge. It's a different design type that's good for Ford. I have a feeling that the Edge could eventually replace the Escape/Mariner if sales continue to surge.

Has anyone read a decent review of the Edge? Motor Trend ripped it apart in their review.

The Edge is good but from what Road and Track said (I think it was them) The Mazda CX-7(built on the same platform) is the better of the two. Its lighter, faster and sportier and IMO looks better too.

Eventually the Edge will get better from what we have seen the new highlander will look like crap. And it already beats the resale value of the highlander it was somewhere on autospies. Murano has had their recalls too

You guys don't get something about the edge! It's all flash! It looks good, yes. But from what I've read, it's completely mediocre, and brings NOTHING new to the segment. No great gas mileage, no new features, no interesting engine, not even real aluminum trim! Nothing!

Edge - THE AREA RIGHT BEFORE YOU FALL OFF A CLIFF
Is that an ironic name for a FORD vehicle?
