Ford of Europe is celebrating a significant growth in Europe’s two largest markets in March.

Led by incentives, Ford’s sales grew 39.6 percent to 28,300 units last month in Germany, Europe’s No. 1 market. Sales in Italy, Europe’s second largest market, grew 21.7 percent to 23,800 units.

Uh, the Fiesta will be sold here next year. My thought is will it do as good here in sales...

My understanding is that they are indeed very similar. However, if i remember correctly, the Mazda was made somewhat sportier.

We are Americans like Europeans are who they are, never a reason first to appologize for that. Second, America has such a large span of land, so yes, we love freedom of travel. High speed trains are coming like the sales of compact cars has gradually grown. The Fiesta will do fine along with the Camaro and Hyundai Genesis Coupe.

When you look at how many small cars are sold in the U.S and canada I would say you're dead wrong. It's more a matter of people giving up their domestic biases and buying a ford that's much better than the competition.

The XR4Ti was not a mainstream car and was never marketed as a small economy car. In regards to popularity, how many VW Beetles did we muscle car loving Americans buy when they started selling them here in the late 50's? A million or more? Minis, Corollas, Civics, all new and old have sold rather well here in the States and considering the high praise the Fiesta is receiving, I have no doubt it will be a very popular car. Last but not least, Ford isn't taking any bailout money because they run a good business and know how to read the market. I'm sure they've done their research that the Fiesta will fly off of dealer lots.
