Just the other moment Chrysler announced it's recalling 350,000 vehicles over a fault with the ignition switch, but now Ford drops the bomb: 850,050 cars make up this new safety campaign.

That over a million cars called back for two peculiar issues in less than 24 hours, which isn't something to boast about for the American automotive industry. What's wrong with them Ford cars, you might ask?

The Blue Oval tells the recall population is believed to have been fitted with defective restraints control modules. According to Ford, the potential issue is represented by the possibility of a short circuit in the module. If that occurs, the airbag warning indicator will illuminate, but depending on the location of the short circuit, the deployable restraint systems as in airbags, pretensioners and side curtains may not function as intended in the event of a vehicle crash.
