Ford offering glass roof option for Mustangs
Taking some influence from the Giugiaro Mustang Concept, Ford is now offering a factory-installed glass roof. The new glass roof will be available as an option on both the V6 Mustang and Mustang GT next summer. Cost will start at $1,995, but that’s still less than going for a convertible, so don’t feel too bad.

Made of tinted privacy glass, the new glass roof reduces both infrared rays and vehicle cool-down time by 50 percent. A manual roller...

Should look pretty cool given the Mustang's beautifully flowing roofline.

It'll be a very popular option, and breath a bit of life into the vehicle as it enters mid-cycle.

Who wants a thousand glass cuts in a bad roll-over?

What they need to offer is more HP and better performance. How can the G37, 335i, and the IS350 get better performance numbers than the Mustang GT, when they have V6's and the Mustang has V8? That makes no sense. By the Mustang's own time line, it should be doing mid 4 sec 0-60 times, not low 5's. Sad, very sad, that the above three cars can put the Mustang in the pasture.

NO vehicle that offers the performance of the Mustang at the given price (25k) has anything to be ashamed of... PERIOD!

I, personally wouldn't own one, but I certainly respect Ford's effort especially since all of the vehicles you listed cost considerably more to both purchase and insure.

Agreed. Until the new Camaro gets here of course.

i think they need independant rear suspension more than anything, as the camaro will have it. i fully expect the next mustang to be equipped with it.

The IRS was sidelined for the new models, to keep the price down. A useful IRS would increase the price by about $3k.

I think 'bullgogz' comment is one of the funniest yet. I totally agree with him about the Mustang's interior, but the glass roof option will be pretty cool.

Well the Bullet is supposed to be a chassis improvement and a slight performance improvement as well over the base GT.IRS however would help. However with the new Camaro and Challenger(offering V6 as well),Ford may have to bite the Bullet and offer IRS.Doesn't the Bullet interior offer real aluminum on the dash? The replacement in 2010 is supposed have the extra HP.

I'm sure thats going to do wonders to the frame rigidity and weight distribution. As if it didn't have enough problems getting around corners already...
