A series of cost-reducing procedures will be inaugurated by the Formula One in the following couple seasons, but its regulating body, the FIA, went back on its far-reaching suggestion to compel teams to utilize typical engines.
The plans, brain-stromed with the Formula One Teams Association and publicized at the FIA World Council Meeting today, are a reply to the current resolution by Honda to vend or totally end its F1 operation. For the following year, teams will lengthen the useful life of their units, apply a reduced rpm limit of 18,000 instead of the current 19,000, reduce wind tunnel work and, considerably, conform to a total testing stoppage during the season.
