It looks lightyears better than any Prius and it's faster, handles a lot better, has better built quality and finer materials and is more fuel efficient.

It's brilliant.

But I still don't like green cars.

For a regular size A4 (not a tiny car, pretty heavy) it's not bad.

Google says:
4.9 l/100km = 48.0029764 miles per gallon

A very impressive car indeed. I wish that Audi would bring their TDI technology to the U.S. market faster. For example, their 3.0-liter TDI, which generates almost as much horsepower as their gasoline 3.2-liter V6 and much more torque than their 4.2-liter gasoline V8, won't be introduced to the American market until 2008, and only in a 5,000-lb. Q7 initially. Why won't Audi put it in their new A5 and A4 models as well? Those much lighter cars would be both economical and fun to drive! Go figure.

I wonder how the 48 mpg (Europe cycle) compares with the U.S. cycle? Nevertheless, a great effort by Audi which shows that we can combat OPEC with autos that are luxurious and fun to drive.
I think their diesels have a problem in the U.S. due to our new, very restrictive, and unfair diesel emissions standards. That's the cause of the delay.

This diesel engine was tested and passed even the CA restrictions, that being "worst" state.

Wow, I knew it. This car looks incredible in "real-life" shots; worlds better than the previous model. Modern, sleek, sophisticated. Sexy!

This engine would be fantastic if it actually made it to production- better yet, the US. 40mpg in a sedan that's actually enjoyable!
