Looks great. The rear is only similar because BMW 3 series coupe tail lights are very much similar to the ones from the current A4 sedan. Audi used an evolution of its A4 sedan tail lights on the A5, BMW just modified (or at least they look very similar) The rear built in spoiler is an evolution from the one in the A6. The rest of the lines are influenced by the Audi Rodjet Concept along with some Nuvoulari influence as well.— chewy (View Profile)

Randy, seriously, can you not read. I feel like I should waste keystrokes. That picture is nto an audi concept at all, in fact, it even says "A7" on the front. Needless to say there is no A7 concept, just photoshops. If people werent so dumb, there wuld be a quarter of the posts there are here— naech (View Profile)

001 can't see straight. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on the rear end, but otherwise, this car kills the 3-series. — smshnick (View Profile)

looks nice, but I don't like the wavy line along the upper side of the car. The single arc on the new MB's and 3-series looks better, gives them kind of a "ready to pounce" sporting look that I prefer. Compared to a 335i Coupe I'd give the A5 a slight edge in front end appearance (though that's a close call), the 335i Coupe the edge from the side, and a draw from the rear since they look pretty similar. Both nice. I guess the question will be performance. The 335xi Coupe coming out at the end of the year will probably cost a good bit less than the S5 will and offer similar performance.— JRobUSC (View Profile)

how big is this car? The rear quarter windows and the wavy line on the side make it look pretty big. Anyone know the dimensions?— JRobUSC (View Profile)

To settle all agruments, the BMW 3 Series coupe is exactly 181.1 inches long. Check bmwusa.com.So, they ARE direct competitors. Let all 6 Series comparisons die!— S4cabriofoxone (View Profile)

But wow, is it beautiful. MUCH better in person than in Audi's pictures. That always happens! Why can't Audi learn to take press shots? Their cars are so much better in the flesh!001, like smshnick, I think your comparison to the 3er is invalid. Both are stunningly beautiful in different ways. They both have character lines- does that make them look identical? I think not. Also, as chewy said, Audi did have the wide rear lamps on the A4 before the 3 coupe came out, if you want to play that game.— S4cabriofoxone (View Profile)

One of the best if not the best Audi I have ever seen. Is the A5/S5 compared to the BMW 328/335? In power and market share?— Terminal10 (View Profile)

Yes. A5 3.2 will be the entry model, competing with the 328i, and S5 will be a bit quicker (and more special) than the 335i, so they're not really competition. RS5 will be the best competitor to M3.— S4cabriofoxone (View Profile)

As if BMW owns the rights to this segment. They're making competition. Competition is a good thing.FYI, Infiniti already has a coupe here, Mercedes has one (overpriced, sadly), and Lexus is planning one.BMW fans have to lighten up. I love the new M3, and the new S5. AT THE SAME TIME. Is it so hard?— S4cabriofoxone (View Profile)

The side reminds me somehow of the camaro concept, but overall this car is stunning. I like the front (typical audi design) and the back looks fresh (does remind me of bmw btw). Interior looks nice other than the steering wheel which has a 2 colour tone?. I love competition! — M53R (View Profile)

Look nice but it's just another coupe from Audi. This A5 would never be a legend like the TT. It lacks of 'Wow' factor in it. — underthegravity (View Profile)

That's like saying, "Her face is ugly and she has a ton of cellulite, but she's hot."The only two cars that I remember that lived up to their concept versions were both Audis- the TT and the R8 (which looks better than the LeMans). If you think an entry-sporxury coupe can be as beautiful as its outlandish concept vehicle, you're sadly mistaken. How is the interior ugly? I'd sit in it before I judged it. I thought the Range Rover interior was ugly when it came out. Then I sat in it.— S4cabriofoxone (View Profile)

I really like the new Audi A5. And it seems to be the size of the 3 series thank goodness. I am not too into huge 2 doors and people kept comparing it to the 6 series before it came out. The only thing that is a little strange to me is the side cutline. Most Audis have had a very chiseled look where here it is kind of curvy. I am not saying this is bad, but it is different for an Audi. I love the proportions and the interior is typical high quality Audi. I can't wait to drive one! THis may just be the next car!— atomicbri (View Profile)
