When it comes to BMW tuners there are only a couple that really are recognized straight from the factory, and one of them got took to the big stage at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show with its customized 3-Series. That, my friends, is Alpina.

And while the new B3 bi-turbo has all of the power and customized interior treatment one would come to expect from Alpina after all of these years, there's one thing that's extra special about this particular car.

One thing that caught Agent 001's eye in the cabin was the special screen that replaces one of the HVAC vents right above the vehicle's center stack. This screen actually is a display for the B3's detailed vehicle information, like water temperature and oil temperature, the amount of boost, and — most importantly for track goers — a timer.

This got us thinking. Porsche offers in its Sport Chrono package a stopwatch functionality that allows you to keep track of your laptimes.

Obviously this Alpina unit is a bit more up-to-date, which leaves us wondering...

Should BMW start offering this sort of functionality in its Sport Package?

What say you, Spies?
