News today Buick will kill the planned Saturn Vue-platformed plug-in-hybrid-electric crossover comes as no surprise to the consumers and journalists who saw it in person.

The "Vue-ick" was horrifyingly atrocious. Now we've uncovered news GM killed it because of Twitter.

I honestly can't believe that the time has arrived. I have been watching old episodes of Friends, and I was quite amazed when all the things that Ross was blabbling about have become mainstream reality. Then again... they promised us flying cars during the turn of the century. :P

I doubt it was really twitter than made them realize. If that was the case GM would have never came out with the vibe,aztek etc. Car forums have been around for many years.Twitter isnt the first place people voice their opinions.

a plug in crossover would sale well, many want the utilaty of an suv with the mpg of very small sedan. bring it back but give the crosover Enclave looks.

how can you come to a conclusion that this car would have been a loser becuase a few people on the internet dont like it? If that where the case every car would be a loser if we based it level of achievment with the barbs on Autospies alone. Truly would the pruis be a hit?

The Aztec etc did not have the benefit of free public gauging prior to their release. The VUE-ick (as it were) does. Proof that car companies actually can and do listen is evidenced by the Mustang. Ford is now bragging that they have had 45 years of unbroken Mustang sales is only partially true. If it wasn't for very angry fans who were mortified by Ford's plan to give the Mustang a front-drive Mazda-shared chassis then it would have disappeared in 1997. That's when the Probe met its demise. The car that Ford was intending to call Mustang. GM is new to the listening game, true. But here we have then new GM making the correct decision. Too many badges on the same car waters down the experience. For far too long GM has listened to their dealers who bitch for a car like their neighbours to sell. If Buick dealers want to sell Vues, they should go talk to Roger Penske.

The Aztec doesnt need publiv guaging prior to its release. The people designing it should have thrown up on the first sketches. I think someone lost a bet and approved that car. What im saying is,the VUE-ick can have mixed reactions. In the case of the pontiac and other certain cars i cannot see how someone can stand back and say "ah what perfection"
