GM: Saturn Vue plug-in hybird coming in ‘2009-ish’
Well it seems like the Chevrolet Volt won’t be GM’s first plug-in hybrid out on the market after all. According to Jill Lajdziak, brand general manager, the first GM plug-in hybrid will be a Saturn Vue SUV that can go 10 miles on electricity alone.

“In 2009-ish,” Lajdziak told The Detroit Free Press.

But are their "green" cars selling well?

GM is fast making a big comeback but the VUE should be sent back to the drawing board to fix a couple of major flaws. My wife wants a small SUV. The VUE was a front runner until we looked at it in the dealer's showroom. We were completely disappointed to find cheap interior plastic and lack of front passenger seat height adjustment. The seat height adjustment problem is a deal breaker for me as I banged my head on the roof every time I tried to get into the front passenger seat. Last but not least, althought GM's DOHC 3.6 litre engine is top notch, it is mounted transversely in the VUE ( a red flag for me). The VUE has a cheap AWD system that will not easily get you out a situation where the entire one side of the vehicle is on glare ice. GM should clone something from Audi's best Quattro system (all Quattros are not the same) or from Subaru's best AWD sytem (only the WRX STI has a truly outstanding AWD system among Subaru vehicles).

I really don't care who has the greenest vehicle. I will buy the vehicle that gives me the best comfort and performance for the money.

I agree with EnnNorak, my Mom is shopping small SUV's and the interior quality and vehicle weight must be addressed. Especially when the CR-V gets 22-28 MPG and the VUE 18-22.

Don't get me wrong, I like the overall look of the car, but it needs a few tweaks.

Why can't Saturn start where they left off? What's the point getting 10 miles on pure electicity, when they achieved better results back in 1997...the Saturn EV1 that got killed, remember that??? GM execs are a bunch of useless tits on a bore, that get over paid for pathetic executive cannibal decisions. GM is "All Talk" at this point, and they con't to pave the road way to failure...wake up boys!!!
