Britta Gross, General Motors’ director of global energy systems, said that she expects that there will be 1 million electric vehicles on U.S. roads by 2017 or 2018. This is later than President Obama's target date of 2016. Gross made these comments at a recent Edison Foundation conference. She said that GM has to “watch demand."
