Gas Costs Back On The Road to $3 A Gallon
The steady climb to higher spring gasoline prices is under way and a repeat of last year's $3 a gallon is a strong possibility.

The average price for a gallon of regular in Metro Detroit reached $2.28 Monday, according AAA Michigan. That's up 38 cents from a month ago and the highest price at the pump since Dec. 4.

Statewide, the average price for a gallon of gas is $2.30.

Pump prices are more than a dime higher than at this time last year, fueling concerns that Michigan drivers again could soon pay $3 a gallon -- as they have the past two summers.

It's weird since sweet crude oil has dropped..

I guess the Arab's need several more exotics in their garages.

Actually the price for the barrel is LOW now, around $50/barrel, but our beloved oil companies are screwing us up as usual JUST like our beloved car companies.
Sadly, American companies screw America on a daily basis.

In the EU a litre of gas is almost everywhere more than 1 euro per liter. If gas prices hit $3 per gallon in the states that would be still like 60 eurocents per liter.

Here in Califrgginfornia Bay Area , regular unleaded is already at $2.90 a gallon, add .20 to .25 for a gallon for premium unleaded. It's disgusting.

makes the hybrid more appealing again. I said it a couple months ago when prices inched downward, it was only a matter of time before they increased again. Low gas prices are now, and forever will be, the exception. We must get that through our thick skulls. $3 will seem like a bargain in a couple years.

OPEC cut production by 1 million barrels a day on Feb. 1st. It was all over the news about 4 months ago, so this shouldn't come as a surprise.

Good call, hybrids will be bad in demand once again.

Eh, I pay $2.85 for premium at my local Shell. All the nearby bp's have closed, oddly enough.

That makes for about $25 in my A3 every two weeks. And I'm still going from 0-60mph in six seconds! Ha!
