General Motors lets workers offer discounts to anyone
NEW YORK -- General Motors Corp. says it is extending its employee-discount program to a wider group of non-employees as the Detroit automaker deals with a weak sales environment.
GM spokeswoman Susan Garontakos says the company will allow employees to offer the discount to their friends and extended family through July 31.

GM employee-discount is a joke; the market price is lower than GM employee-discount price.

Tragically, he's right. Saab employee pricing (which i believe is the structured the same as the other lines) is about 3% under invoice. Holdback is about 4% and dealers will go as far into it as they have to to move the cars. Net cost after holdback is about $400 under Employee pricing on a $37,000 MSRP Saab 9-3 Aero. It should be proportionally similar as you go up or down in price, but I can't say that for sure.

Well I guess nobody here knows that typically people get all other offers along with employee pricing. So any incentives are still usable just with a better starting point.

I guess i should have specified that employee pricing does include all incentives, as does the pricing that I was referring to. What I'm saying is that dealers will sell the cars to the general public for less than employee pricing and pass all the incentives along as well.
