Maybe your dream will come true and the car will be built in India -- after all Tata Motors has the brand now does it not?

erm...I submitted this article, but, according to inside sources after TATA makes the purchase of the brands "Jaguar will be spun off almost immediately."

Just met with the Jaguar Cold Weather Team coming down from Ontario. They were in a 2010 Jaguar XK. It will have a NA 5.0 Liter V-8 with 425-hp. The XKR will have 500-hp. Sort of interesting I guess. Nice looking car. Sounds great. Still a little soft. But you can get a great deal on one!

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense. The standard XK, having more power than the current XKR?

Jaguar has an interesting product line-up problem as the result of the 5.0 liter engine. Previously, the R version cars all had the same engine- the 4.2 liter supercharged V8. However, that engine is now the SV8 version in the XF.

What can be banked on is that the 5.0 liter supercharged engine is that which will appear in the XKR and XJR. Now, because Jaguar wants to move upmarket and because the engine is older, it may behoove Jaguar to simply stop offering it in the XK and XJ series vehicles (in the U.S.), or what we may see is indeed, if what has been said is accurate, what you state. The 4.2 liter in all of its forms may be the base engine- which is a possibility.

I don't actually know.

One more thing; the number cited, 425 HP for the naturally aspirated version, is in line with what was reported as the 5.0 liter engine output when put on the dyno- 470HP.

These are new engines and updated sheet metal for the new XK range. It will have a NA 425-hp. The XKR will 500-hp. It doesn't make sense because these are new engines. They realize they need more hp to be taken seriously. It sounded pretty nice. Updated interior was different!?

Just beautiful. I don't think a 6 series or even the new SL is good looking enough to be compared with the XK. And for all those TATA haters, jaguar will be sold right off by TATA, when they acquire the brand from Ford. Seemingly TATA just wanted to buy Land Rover. And Land Rover product development will be shifted to India, according to Autospies.

An all Indian built Land Rover does not appeal to me.I would assume when Tata spins off Jaguar it will be for next to nothing because Tata is primarily interested in LR. Maybe Fiat will buy Jaguar now at a reduced price. They have mentioned that the would love the platform for Alfa Romeo. In addition Fiat has jointly produced cars with Tata in India. Also I thought they were advising Tata in the purchase from Ford. So I'm guessing Fiat will buy Jaguar from Tata.
