Germany Votes Audi A4 Most Popular

The Audi A4 is Germany’s most popular car. For the ninth time now, more than 100 regional weekly newspapers in the former East Germany invited their readers to vote for “Our Car.” The 56 car models launched during the past year were eligible to take part. Over 100,000 responses were received, and the Audi A4 topped the poll.

The Audi A4 has already received numerous major awards – including the “Golden Steering Wheel” from Bild am Sonntag and the “Auto 1” trophy from AutoBild naming it the best new car in all of Europe.

Now it is continuing Audi’s history of success in the “Our Car” award. This was in fact the fourth time that the brand with the four rings has won this readers’ poll.

In 2001, the old-generation Audi A4 took first place, a feat later achieved by the Audi A6 in 2005 and the Audi TT last year. The prize was handed over during the AMI in Leipzig. In the 2008 “Our Car” readers’ poll, two further Audi models ranked among the top ten most popular German cars: The Audi A5 came third and the Audi R8 seventh.

This is much more significant than the 1 series in Germany, the 1 series has been out for years anyways, we just now get the expensive versions in the US

GoObama, this is about voting for cars in Germany and has nothing to do about "Toyota",,,, I think you need to hash out your problems with Rev. Wright.I was just trying to say that the new A4 didnt win or come in first place for the ADAC "German lenkrad"....geez..

This proves to me that Audi is the most 'German' car of our day. It used to be that all of them had that German Teutonic feel and design to them, but now? Imo most of the BMW designs look Japanese. Merc still has 'it' but less so than they used to. Badge whores take note, you're being duped.
