If there is one luxury brand that seems to be spiraling into a black hole of doom, it's Acura. And it's not because it makes a terrible product, overall, it just seems that the marque is not ahead of the curve.

Looking into recent sales figures from June 2011, year-to-date Acura has moved over 60,000 vehicles, which doesn't seem too bad; however, when you see that it use to sell 77,000 + vehicles YTD back in June 2008 that's not such a great sign. This represents more than 20 percent demand destruction in over three years. If you look at monthly figures, it's easy to say that it's not solid evidence but a slide over three years is hard to ignore.

Now you can attribute it to a slowing economy and you may even argue that it's cyclical because Acura is due for a major lineup overhaul. Those are fair points but there's one tiny problem with them: other luxury marques, like Audi, have grown market share. In addition, can you name one Acura product that is a segment leader and a benchmark for others to follow?

We're having trouble.

Taking all of this into consideration, can YOU name three reasons why Honda shouldn't throw in the towel when it comes to Acura?
