As long as the LF-A is a go, I have no problems with the changes.

As far as the Supra is concerned, it makes sense. If the LF-A was going to have a V-10 engine, I could see a V-8 400hp model Supra as a logical vehicle. But with the LF-A being a V-8 500hp exotic sports flagship and with the +/- 400hp IS500 (not mentioned but clearly coming as evidenced by numerous mildly disguised mules seen), the Toyota Supra becomes illogical, at least at the present time. The Nissan 350Z, the BMW 3, the RX-8 and few others in the segment would make the pricing of the Supra a difficult sell. The excellent 350Z can easily be fitted with a turbo to increase the power substantially and still come in cheaper than a V-8 Supra. Also, if the Supra were to appear it would HAVE to compete with the now much more powerful and capable Corvette. That can only be done with a 400hp or so V-8 and that would make the cost to performance ratio decidedly against the Supra when comparing with the Corvette or the lower powered but also significantly lower priced but well performing Z. Toyota did not become the richest car company in the world by making bad financial decisions.

The IS500 and the LF-A on the other hand do not have such a difficult marketing segment to deal with. The IS500 because it is Lexus's foray into the BMW 3 class dominated segment that HAS to include a 4 door sedan, a coupe, a convertible and a powerful M3 contender and the LF-A because Toyota NEEDS to have a symbolic, albeit limited edition car, that can be a significant step towards removing the "dull by reliable" cars that the brand has become known amongst the enthusiasts.

If they are able to price the LF-A well, they will have a car that few true enthusiasts will be able to resist, especially if it performs on par with some of its much more expensive Italian friends.

I wish they would make a new Supra, I loved the old ones, they still look good on the road and the tuning capability of them is crazy.

it says in the list, new land cruiser, for 2008.

but still.....hopefully the sc will be a lot better.
actually hopefully all those cars will be a lot better.
land cruiser, sc looking very outdated.

The FJ Cruiser is spanking new and maybe that's why this model is not in the list. I recently looked at the FJ reviews on edmunds.com. The comments kinda make me feel like I want to test drive an FJ to experience the kind of praises it is receiving. I use to drive a mid-size SUV but gave it up due to poor gas mileage and well before the current gas price explosion. I had some good memories from that sport utility vehicle. Come to think of it I really miss the utility from an SUV.

What planet have you been living on. JX470 is not some kind of crossover SUV. JX stands for Jumbo SUV and is going to be the Lexus equivalent to the Sequoia. This has been talked about for years and is just waiting for the Tundra to be redone because the Sequoia and JX470 are based on the Tundra platform!!

I don't think the RX competes with the Infiniti FX. It's too conventional looking and driving. It's an MDX competitor. Lexus needs an FX-type SUV, no question. Luxury buyers don't base their purchases on gas prices. The market is predicted to double in the next 5 years.

i keep reading reports that the JX is gonna be a big SUV - full sized like the landcruiser. im hoping it will be smaller, like a sporty rx and maybe a touch larger...and this seems to say that. so whats the deal!?!?
