Has AutoSpies.com finally proved Infiniti has beaten BMW? This video may convince you.
The all-new 2008 Infiniti G37 Coupe combines the exhilarating performance, stunning styling and modern, sporty interior of the original Infiniti G Coupe and accelerates each to new levels. Among the key enhancements to the new second-generation G Coupe are a larger, more powerful 3.7-liter V6 engine, available advanced 4-Wheel Active Steer system, a dramatic new exterior design and a refined interior with intuitive, integrated technology. The G37 Coupe joins the recently introduced, all-new 2007 Infiniti G35 Sedan in Infiniti showrooms nationwide on August 21st.
Agent 001 talks to one of the lead engineers of the 2008 Infiniti G37, Steve Neece.
Steve has had hundreds of hours testing the new Infiniti G37 and BMW 335 on the road and on the track and he shares his insight on why he thinks the new G37 has finally bested the BMW 335 coupe.

Don't get me wrong, the G37 is a BRILLIANT car. I'm really starting to love it. But the back end looks ugly and it wants to be a BMW. No thanks. I'll rather buy the original.

After watching some of the interior pictures I can only conclude that ergonomically it looks pretty good but the overall design and materials look uninspired and cheap. Especially the wood trim.. horrid.

As several journalists have written, the backseat, as with the G35, is also unacceptably cramped. If anyone has ever sat in the back of a 3-series coupe and then a G35 coupe, they would see how much different spatially they are. This may seem like a minor problem but along with the small trunk, this car has inconvenience written all over it.

Cmon bagwell, you havent even driven the 335 to know the difference.
Please don't proffer a biased opinion without having first done your homework.
I agree with SevorbeupstryIsBack completely. Bagwell, you should make a note of his comments--this is how you offer an opinion.

The video hasn't convinced me of much either. I can't really tell about the quality of the interior, but stylistically it hasn't changed that much. Still don't care for it. The real proof will be in the pudding (how it drives [handling, steering, suspension, etc.]). One of the big drawbacks will be the weight (I believe it will be over 200 pounds heavier than the 335i). You can't fix that and it just degrades everything the whole driving experience.

I think Infinity took the easy way with the G37. They didn't take any risks, but why would they on such a winning formula? I think the G37 looks less stately then the G37, but other than performance, what else does it have? It doesn't excel in particular department, and Car and Driver even says it's less fun to drive than the G35.

I just don't understand what the argument is. BMW is faster, better designed, available in convertible, more luxurious, and with the exception of the navigation system, an overall better instrument panel.

Better designed, the G37 look ten times better than the outdated 335i.
