If you were blown away with the Gumpert Apollo, which set a record-breaking Nurburgring lap time for production vehicles of 7:11:57, get ready for their latest project dubbed the Tornante. Although the Apollo was known for its quirky looks, the latest from the fledgling German automaker is a bit more fluid looking as we can see from the recent sketch.

And if you dug the Apollo's power -- derived from an Audi 4.2-liter V8 engine -- of 700 horsepower mated with a sequential six-speed gearbox, then you'll be pleased to know that this is the same powertrain within the Tornante.

Other good news is that the company is claiming that the Tornante will have "innovative proportions within the rear section."

What that means, we cannot be exactly sure; however, we hope it translates into a roomier cabin and more practical luggage capacity.
