Honda Accord: Best-selling vehicle in March, beats Malibu and Camry
While everyone is talking up the Chevrolet Malibu sales beating Toyota’s Camry and Nissan’s Altima, Honda’s Accord is quitely taking over the mid-size sedan segment. According to an Edmunds analysis, the new 2008 Honda Accord was not only the best-selling car in America in March but also the best-selling vehicle.
Honda sold 36,161 Accords in March out selling the Camry by 4,851 units and the Malibu by 21,414 units. It also outsold the usual top-place vehicles like the...

this car looks horrible, even next to the Camry. Only the coupe looks great IMHO. Unfortunately, I think there are quite a few people that buy this regardless of it's looks just because it's an Accord...and they should?

100% camry is going to get a decent face lift soon i doubt toyota would let there best seller get beat without a fight. I think the new accord is an excellent vehicle (for its class) in all areas except the exterior design which i don't find very ugly but still doesn't look like all the parts match

At 1st I thought the accord was ok, but now I think it looks horrible. The rear design doesn't fit with the side profile, and the front looks awkward... But yeah... people these days..

Ugly but it sales. Camry's are boring looking and sell. The Accord has a large following as well as the Camry and these folks dont care about style just quality and reliability along with decent gas mileage. I dont want either but hell obviously nearly 800 folks per year cant be wrong. Well ok they could.

Yes i too think Accord's rear end is not very good looking. Bad thing is that last model's (till 2007) rear end(LED tailights and braking lights on bootlid) was better looking than the new one.
but rest of the car and it's design is very good. Drove it many times and to me it's best of the class.
That's why it's selling so well not only in US but also here in Middle East.

But don't forget people that this also includes the 2-door accord coupe. So the public might be buying those instead....
The Camry and Solara are not put into the same category, they rank the sales different. Even though the solara is known as the Camry coupe. But the Accord and Accord coupe are put in the same category, so I think if they were to put the Camry sedan and Accord Sedan sales alone, Camry will win by a long shot.

What is surprising is how Toyota combines the Matrix with Corolla in sales, but does not combine the Solara and Camry.
I'd be curious to see how many Solaras are sold monthly. Perhaps you are correct.
Either way, good for Honda. All of the mid-size makers seem to be having some success lately. Competition is good for the consumer.

Actually, I believe the solara coupe sales are counted with the camry sedan and that's why officially its called the camry solara coupe.

don't just complain the exterior, take a look interior quality first & find the another brand (included camry, altima, even 09 TSX) can match in those price range & performance. I will buy one to replace my camry.

youre better off with the coupe. or at least wait for honda to facelift. they always like changing the rear taillights and this accord badly needs new ones.

Lies, Lies, Lies yeah-ah (Thompson Twins c.1986?)

#1 F150
#2 Silverado
#3 Camry
#4 Accord
#5 Civic
#6 Altima
Malibu not in top ten
So the Malibu did not outsell the Camry or Altima. And the Accord most certianly DID NOT outsell the F15o, Silverado, or Camry.
Do a little fact checking before spouting off (or believing) lies.

What would you say about an American buying a Mercedes instead of a Cadillac?
By the way, please show me one article that places the Malibu ahead of the Accord?

You are an idiot evilm, these domestics have been in the game far longer than the japs. Bottom line they had enough time to figure out the car game. Problem here is domestic execs continues to make bad decisions, while getting paid high salaries & bonuses year after year, with nothing but poor results. The only traitors here are the domestics companies themselves.
